The first five books of the Bible make up a vital core of the Jewish and Christian Scriptures. Designated the “Pentateuch” or “books of Moses,” they are called the “Torah” in Hebrew. Modern Christians are too frequently getting by on unhealthy diets. We scroll through shallow memes and 15 second reels, yet our spirits are malnourished. Ironically, the richest and most satisfying cuisine is collecting dust on our nightstands. The entire Bible is a feast given to the starving world by God, and instead we choose to live off crumbs. The beginning of the Bible, the Torah, is the amazing first course which ignites our hearts to hunger for more. Its instruction beckons us to come and sit at the overflowing banquet of God—to eat and be filled. We need to “feast” on the Torah, making it a part of who we are, and letting it show us what living in covenant with the one true God looks like.

Join us as our congregation commits to reading through these books over the course of seven weeks. Bible classes and sermons will correspond with the reading plan. There is also a supplementary fasting plan to follow as well. We especially hope you will consider joining a study group on Sunday nights as we talk about what we have read, share life together, and "feast on the Torah."

Daily readings are less than 5,000 words which should take less than 30 minutes a day. The goal, however, is not to speed read or check a box. Carve out time to sit with Scripture, mulling it over, and prayerfully meditating on its message. Saturday's and Sunday's are intended for catch-up, worship, and rest.
